Date of Enlistment:  May 9, 1861 Place of Enlistment:  Franklin, TN Rank at Enlistment:  Private Rank at Discharge:  Private Casualty:  None Comments:  James Robinson is hard to track down since his name is fairly common.  There is a James Robinson living in Franklin in 1860, but there is no certain evidence that this is the same one that served in the 1st Tennessee.  James enlisted at the company’s formation and was discharged in 1862.  According to a post war roster he was discharged due to being underage.  His service record just says he was discharged as Non-Conscript, meaning he was not subject to the Conscription Act.  Two post war rosters state he moved to Mississippi and one states he was killed there after the war.  No other information is available regarding his life.
