Comments: Edward first appears living in District 5 (just west of Franklin) with what appears to be an Aunt or other female relative.
By 1860 he is living with the rest of his family in District 1 of Williamson County (western part of the county). The census shows he is
attending school. He joined the regiment in VA and he was discharged on May 27, 1862 at Tupelo, MS. He later enlisted in the
cavalry under General Starnes Escort according to a prisoner of war roster. The same document states he was captured in Hickman
County, TN on January 4, 1864 and sent to Rock Island Prison Camp. With no other documentation on his release.
After the war, Edward married Lucinda Scruggs (niece of Young Scruggs of the Williamson Grays) on December 13, 1866 and the
couple had three children. On the 1870 Census he is listed as being back in District 5 and according to the 1878 Map of Williamson
County he was living off of West Harpeth Road. Edward was killed by an accidental gunshot wound, though the nature of the
accident has not been determined. He is buried in Mount Hope Cemetery in Franklin in Section A (grave unmarked).
