James C. Harrison
DOB:  About 1835? DOD:  ? Age at Enlistment: About 27 Date of Enlistment:  November 21, 1862 Place of Enlistment:  Murfreesboro, TN Rank at Enlistment:  Private Rank at Discharge:  Private Casualty:  None Comments:  James was a conscript that arrived while the regiment was encamped in Murfreesboro, TN.  He is listed as deserting twice, his final desertion was September 9, 1863 at Chattanooga, TN according to Captain Atkeison’s account book.  However, his service record shows him in a hospital in Stevenson, AL sick with a fever on a roll dated September 17, 1863.  Unfortunately, his war record ceases after his hospital record.  What became of his service afterwards is unknown.  The roster made by George Nichols decades after the war only states that he was still living at the time the roster was made.  There were multiple James Harrison’s living in Williamson County in 1860 Census so the birth year above may not be correct.
