Comments: William is listed as living in District 5 of Williamson County in 1850 (Bethesda area) and in District 1 (Fairview area) in
1860. Shortly after his enlistment he is listed as sick at Hot Springs, VA in September and October 1861. He was wounded in the

last record shows he was present in February 1864. George Nichols said that he was captured on Hood's Retreat, but there is
nothing besides his note to back that up. He married Mary Hays on March 20, 1866 and the couple had 9 children. By 1870, he is
living in Marshall County and working as a dentist, a career he would keep for the rest of his life. He is buried in Swanson Cemetery
