Jesse T. Cox
DOB:  1827 DOD:  1902 Age at Enlistment: 34 Date of Enlistment:  May 9, 1861 Place of Enlistment:  Franklin, TN Rank at Enlistment:  Private Rank at Discharge:  Private Casualty:  None Comments:  Jesse was born in Maryland but by 1850 was living in Williamson County, TN.  He lived in District 14 of Williamson County, which is between modern day I-65 and Arrington, TN.  After enlisting, Jesse is listed as being in the hospital September and October of 1861 at Hot Springs, VA.  He received a discharge at Tupelo, MS on July 23, 1862 for over age and being Non-Conscript.  His discharge papers list him as being a physician and describes him as Height: 5'9", Eyes: Hazel, Hair: Black.  Jesse married Lucy Slaughter on January 21, 1865.  She must have died shortly after their marriage, and he remarried to Mary E. Meadows in 1868.  Jesse and Mary had five children.  In the 1880 Census, Jesse is living in Lincoln County, but is living in District 1 of Williamson County (near Fairview) in the 1900 Census.
