Age at Enlistment: 21 Date of Enlistment:  June 18, 1861 Place of Enlistment:  Camp Cheatham Rank at Enlistment:  Private Rank at Discharge:  Private Casualty:  None Comments:  The 1860 Census shows a Jefferson Cook living in District 1 of Williamson County under the roof of Dr. Hardy Maney.  Henry B. Walker is listed as living in the same household (There were two Henry B. Walkers in Williamson County, one in the 1st TN and one in the 24th TN) and could be the same Henry Walker that served in the Williamson Grays.  Both Walker and Cooke are listed as attending school.  Jefferson enlisted at Camp Cheatham in June 1861.  When the regiment traveled to Virginia he became sick and was left at hospital in Hot Springs during September and October of 1861.  Jefferson reenlisted in April 1862 but was discharged on July 21, 1862 for disability.  No record of his life post war has been found.  It is assumed he is the brother or relative of Samuel J. Cooke of the Williamson Grays.
