I found one roster naming him James Thomas Bryant but most post war rosters call him William Bryant. Census records and his service record both refer to him as Thomas Bryant. Thomas married Tennessee Bailey on February 24, 1855 and had three children by the time the war started in 1861. He is listed as living in District 1 (vicinity of Fairview) of Williamson County in the 1860 Census. He enlisted in Nashville on July 23, 1861 and was discharged just a few weeks later on August 5, 1861 for disability. No record has been found showing he served in any other units following his discharge. In the 1870 Census he has moved his family to Obion County, TN and his whereabouts after that are unknown.
