Age at Enlistment: 22 Date of Enlistment:  July 23, 1861 Place of Enlistment:  Nashville, TN Rank at Enlistment:  Private Rank at Discharge:  Private Casualty:  None Comments:  Edward’s younger brother, Garrett, served in the Williamson Grays.  The 1850 census shows him living in Dickson County with his family.  By the 1860 census his family lives in District 1 in Williamson County but he is not listed as living with them.  He became sick in September 1861 and was sent to the hospital at Warm Springs, VA.  He was discharged on December 4, 1861.  According to George Nichols’ post war roster, Edward died on the way home in Bristol, VA.
