Comments: William is shown as living on his father’s farm in the 1860 census. The Binghams lived a few miles north of Leiper’s
Fork, TN. He enlisted in the Williamson Grays at their formation and served until receiving a wound at Murfreesboro on December
31, 1862. His wound put him out of action until March of 1863. Captain Atkeison lists him as deserting in December 1863 and it
appears he sat out the rest of the war. After the war he settled in Bingham, TN and became a Sheriff and served three terms ending
about 1880. In 1904, William was bitten by a dog and died of blood poisoning a week later.
