DOB:  DOD:  Age at Enlistment: Date of Enlistment:  July 23, 1861 Place of Enlistment:  Nashville, TN Rank at Enlistment:  Private Rank at Discharge:  Private Casualty:  None Comments:  I have not been able to find any personal information about James Bailey.  His name is fairly common and he enlisted in Nashville (not where the Williamson Grays were from) so I am not exactly sure of his residence before the war.  James was probably just assigned to the company after enlisting.  He was discharged at Huntersville, VA on August 5, 1861 after only serving two weeks.  There is a discharge paper that is included with his service record that belongs to J. Baley.  I believe it is there by mistake and belongs to a J. Baley in one of the other 1st Tennessee regiments.  The paper is dated 1862 (a year after his discharge) and none of the officer’s listed were apart of Feild’s 1st Tennessee.
