James W. Baber
DOB:  About 1839 DOD: November 30, 1864 Age at Enlistment: 22 Date of Enlistment:  May 9, 1861 Place of Enlistment:  Franklin, TN Rank at Enlistment:  Private Rank at Discharge:  Private Casualty:  Wounded in the nose by a spent ball at Chickamauga on September 19, 1863.  KIA at the Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864. Comments:  I have been unable to find any personal information on James Baber before the war.  He enlisted at Franklin but there are no Babers living in Williamson County on the 1860 Census.  His service record states he was in the hospital from August 30, 1862 until the end of the year.  A year later, he was wounded at Chickamauga and treated in Selma, AL.  James was the only KIA for the company at the Battle of Franklin and it is believe he is one of the unknown graves at the Confederate Cemetery at Carnton.
